Derek Jordan Taylor is a New York–based artist originally from Concord, NH. At an early age, Derek immersed himself in theater, dance, and singing. Inspired by his sister Kayla’s first dance recital, he began training in Hip Hop and Karate at Concord Dance Academy. His love for music and performance deepened at Beaver Meadow Elementary School, where educators Clint Klose and John Hatab encouraged, challenged, and helped nurture his passion for the arts.
Derek’s theatrical journey began in 2012 with his debut role as JoJo in Seussical Jr. with RB Productions. Since then, he performed in more than 28 productions through school programs, RB Productions, Concord Community Players, and Peacock Players. Notable roles include Michael Mell in Be More Chill, Prince Hans in Frozen Jr., Donkey in Shrek Jr., Seaweed J. Stubbs in Hairspray, and Specs in the award-winning Peacock Players production of Newsies.
His training at the Boston Conservatory at Berklee reflects his commitment to artistic excellence. Derek was selected for The LINK Program (Class 5), earning industry recognition and subsequent professional representation.
