Derek Jordan Taylor from Concord, NH has enjoyed theater, dance and singing from a very young age. He started dancing at the age of 6 after watching his sister Kayla’s first dance recital by entering Hip Hop and Karate at Concord Dance Academy. He found his love of music and theater from Beaver Meadow Elementary School with the support of Clint Klose and John Hatab, who put him in situations that would challenge and help build his love for the arts.
Derek has appeared in many theater productions starting in 2012 with his first role as JoJo in “Seussical Jr.” for RB Productions Summer Program. He continued to build his craft throughout the years by taking part of over 28 productions performing in school programs, RB Productions,
Concord Community Players and Peacock Players. Some of his roles consist of Michael Mell "Be More Chill", Prince Hans “Frozen Jr.”, Donkey “Shrek Jr.”, Seaweed J Stubbs “Hairspray” & Specs for the Award-Winning Peacock Player’s “Newsies”.
His educational pursuit at the Boston Conservatory at Berklee further underscores his commitment to excellence in musical theater.
Derek was recognized for his talent and promise through the Link Program (Class 5), eventually earning representation in the industry.
In 2023, Derek made his Broadway debut as a cast member of "Funny Girl on Broadway". He then joined the Roaring Party as an original cast member of "The Great Gatsby" in 2024 followed by an original cast member of "BOOP! The Musical on Broadway" in 2025.
Currently, Derek can be seen back at the Broadway Theatre performing in "The Great Gatsby" through November 1st.
